MEET THE SISTERS BEHIND THE HH
We're twin sisters, moms, and proud residents of Goodland, Indiana. We grew up just down the road in Kentland, spent our early adult years away, and eventually found our way back to the small-town roots we love. Now, we're raising our own families in Newton County and building something meaningful for the community that helped shape us.
With the support of our amazing husbands—both veterans—we’ve created The Harvest Hangout Play Café. This space is more than a business; it’s a way for us to give back, nurture connection, and invest in the next generation.
We also believe in showing up for our neighbors. We're proud to serve on the Goodland Park Board, where we help bring people together through community events that spark joy and connection. One of our biggest contributions is organizing Goodstock—Goodland’s annual music festival that raises funds for veterans in need throughout Jasper and Newton County. Supporting those who serve and building a stronger hometown is personal for us—and it’s part of our mission.
OUR WHY
As new moms, we found ourselves craving a space where our kids could play safely, our minds could unwind, and our hearts could connect with others. But to find anything close to that, we had to drive over an hour—something we knew shouldn’t be the norm for small-town families like ours. We believe our town deserves more than just the basics.
Our journey into motherhood wasn’t a simple one. We each faced our own fertility challenges, which led us to make thoughtful changes to our lifestyle—one of the biggest being a decision to significantly reduce our alcohol intake. At times, we went long stretches without drinking at all, focusing instead on wellness, balance, and what felt best for our bodies. That shift opened the door to a new kind of joy, one that focused on nourishing our bodies, creating meaningful connections, and celebrating life in new, healthier ways. That’s why our menu will feature more than just coffee and tea. We’re serving crafted mocktails made with non-alcoholic spirits—not just juice with fizz—and light eats like flavorful sandwiches and snacks that satisfy.
We’ve always loved to gather, host, decorate, and celebrate every little win—whether it’s a birthday, a baby step, or simply making it through a long week. That spirit of celebration is at the heart of The HH! We wanted to create a space where families can slow down, connect, and enjoy the moment while we do most (or all) of the work. For us, it's more than a café and indoor playground—it’s a foundation for something bigger: a space that nurtures families, fuels creativity, and reminds everyone that joy and community should be close to home.
